I'm Corey Komarec, and I'm a contributing writer at Boldmethod.

I'm a First Officer at a U.S. Major Carrier flying the A319/A320/A321 out of Salt Lake City, Utah.

My passion for aviation started at sixteen years old with an intro flight at Waukegan Regional Airport in Beach Park, Illinois (KUGN) -- I was hooked! I earned my Private Pilot Certificate a year later.

Shortly after, I attended the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota (UND). I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with a major in Commercial Aviation. While attending, I received my Commercial Pilot Certificate with Multi-Engine/Instrument ratings as well as my CFI Certificate with CFII/MEI ratings.

As my first job in the industry, I had the huge opportunity to conduct Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) for U.S. Naval flight training in Pensacola, FL for a summer. Following my time in Pensacola, I returned to UND as a multi-engine instructor and worked towards the restricted ATP minimums for the airlines.

In 2018 I was hired at Envoy Air, a wholly owned regional of American Airlines. I flew the Embraer 175 out of Chicago (ORD) for two years and Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) for another two years.

In 2022, I landed my dream job and was hired on with a U.S. Major Carrier flying the A319/A320/A321 initially out of New York City before eventually transferring to my current base of Salt Lake City
