I'm Corey Komarec, and I'm a contributing writer at Boldmethod.

In 2013, during my junior year of high school, I got an early start to my professional aviation career and began flight training. I flew a Cessna 152 based out of Waukegan Regional Airport in Beach Park, Illinois. I soloed the summer before my senior year and earned my Private Pilot Certificate in the spring of 2015.

I am an alum of the John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences at the University of North Dakota. I graduated in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautics with a major in Commercial Aviation. While attending, I received my Commercial Pilot Certificate with multi-engine/instrument ratings as well as my CFI certificate with CFII/MEI ratings.

Since starting my training as a pilot, I have logged time in aircraft ranging from a Cessna 152 to an Embraer 175. I also had the great opportunity to be a flight instructor at UND as well as in the busy airspace of Pensacola, Florida teaching Introductory Flight Screening (IFS) for U.S. Naval flight training.

I am currently a First Officer for a major airline flying the E-175.
