Which Of These WWI Aircraft Would You Love To Fly?

Four WWI-era aircraft replicas are here at EAA's Oshkosh 2014. They are visiting from the Great War Flying Museum, of Caledon, Ontario, Canada.

So which of these truly historic planes would you love to fly? Read and vote below!

1) Fokker Dr.I (C-GFJK)

If you've ever heard of the famous German Ace the "Red Baron," you'll probably recognize this iconic WWI triplane. Originally flown by Manfred von Richthofen in 1917, this modern replica from 1982 will take you back to dogfights over the trenches in war-torn Europe.

2) Nieuport 28 (C-FEWL)

What about an American Ace? The Nieuport 28 was flown by the 26-victory pilot Eddie Rickenbacker at the beginning of his career in 1918. Fully restored in 1996, this plane even has the same Rickenbacker-style colors.

3) Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.5a (C-GRJC)

Don't worry Canadians, there is a plane for your Ace too! The S.E.5a was flown by Ace Billy Bishop of the Royal Flying Corps. He had a shocking 72 aerial victories, making him the top Canadian Ace of the war.

4) Sopwith 1-1/2 Strutter (C-FSOP)

Now this is one versatile aircraft. Whether it was fitted with dual machine guns, four 25lb. bombs underwing, or two 65lb. bombs for anti-submarine warfare, it made a name for itself for its ruggedness.
