Should Student Pilots Be Required To Demonstrate Spins?

Primary - Spin Earl

Stall/spin accidents account for 13.7 percent of all fatal GA accidents. However, most pilots have never performed a spin in a training environment. The reason is simple - while student pilots need to exhibit knowledge of spins to become a private pilot, they don't need to demonstrate them in flight.

What do you think? Should students be required to demonstrate a spin before receiving their private pilot certificate? Vote, then tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
