Which WWII American Bomber Would You Fly?

They're big, slow, American, and everywhere at EAA's Air Venture at Oshkosh this year. All four of these bombers were highly effective in WWII. Which would you love to fly? Check them out, then vote below.

1) B-17 Flying Fortress

The Flying Fortress dropped 640,000+ tons of bombs over Nazi Germany during WWII. EAA's B-17G "Aluminum Overcast" is not only here at Air Venture this year, but is available for rides!

2) B-24 Liberator

The Liberator was the most produced heavy bomber in history, with a total of 18,400 aircraft being produced between 1940 and 1945. It was the only bomber to operationally deploy the United States' first forerunner to precision-guided munitions during the war, the 1,000 lb. Azon guided bomb.

3) B-25 Mitchell

This twin-engined, medium sized bomber saw service in every theater of WWII. Its ever-increasing amount of forward-facing machine guns made it a vicious ground-attack, strafing aircraft.

4) B-29 Superfortress

EAA's B-29 "Fifi" is at Oshkosh as well. Primarily a high-altitude strategic bomber, the B-29s were largely used in firebombing campaigns against Japan. "The Enola Gay" and "Bockscar" ended WWII by dropping atomic bombs on both Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Which would you fly?

These bombers were some of the most important aircraft ever produced. So the real question is - which would you fly?
