The first commercial line of aircraft produced by Convair, an American manufacturing company, was the CV-240 class of aircraft. The CV-240 and its variants became known as "Convairliners." The first production version of the CV-240 took to the skies on March 16th, 1947, 67 years ago today.

CV-240 - Widely Used

With over 15 variants used by 128+ civilian and military operators, the Convair CV-240 saw service in nearly every corner of the globe. From Delta Air Lines, to Air Fiji, to the Sri Lanka Air Force, its utility for both civilian and military operations was apparent.
