13 Things Pilots Love To Hear

These are some things that will put a smile on any pilot's face...

1) "You're number one for the approach."

2) "That was an awesome landing."

Greasing the landing is always a great way to leave a good impression with passengers.

Taylor Messer

3) "You're cleared as filed to XXX."

Not re-routing can be a relief to any pilot flying IFR if they've done a lot of flight planning.

Swayne Martin

4) "Nope, we don't have any ramp or landing fees."

More money for that $100 hamburger.

5) "Cleared straight-in Runway XXX."

When you're approaching from 20 miles away, that'll save some gas money instead of being vectored around!

6) "Can we go flying again?"

Looks like you gave your passengers a smooth ride!

7) "Cleared into the Bravo."

If you're a student or private pilot, hearing that for the first time is pretty cool.

8) "Good job today."

Hearing some encouragement from an instructor never hurts.

9) "Cleared for takeoff and turn on course."

Pilots love avoiding long departure procedures.

Jim Raeder

10) "That was a lot smoother than any landing on an airline."

If they haven't been in a small plane before, passengers are usually surprised that they aren't thrown around during touchdown.

11) When the tower says "Welcome to XXXX" after you've landed.

A little hospitality goes a long way.

12) "Follow the coastline."

No explanation needed for this good view...

Andrew Stover

13) "You're ready for your checkride."

All of that hard work and money is about to pay off.
