MQ-9 Reaper (Grand Forks, North Dakota, – Oct. 27, 2009) The University of North Dakota John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences (UND Aerospace)—a world-renowned center for aerospace research, training, learning, and custom software development— today announced that the UND Aerospace Foundation and its software development partner, BoldMethod, have signed a four year agreement with Crew Training International, Inc. (CTI) to supply a Learning Management System (LMS) and develop high fidelity Computer Based Training and courseware for CTI in support of their contract with the U.S. Air Force for MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper operator training.

CTI, a leading provider of training services for the U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command and other military and civilian customers, currently provides all contracted MQ-1 Predator and MQ-9 Reaper training services for the U.S. Air Force at Creech Air Force Base, Nev. and Holloman Air Force Base, N.M. as well as MQ-1 training on behalf of the Air National Guard at March Air Reserve Base, Calif.

Under the agreement, UND Aerospace will supply C-LRN, an Internet based Learning Management System specialized to support the MQ-1 and MQ-9 training programs. BoldMethod will develop interactive training content for the MQ-1 and MQ-9 training programs, including a virtual ground control station for laptop deployment. The virtual ground control station will provide structured and free-play procedural training in a SCORM compliant training environment, with detailed tracking and performance evaluation metrics recorded in the C-LRN LMS. Simulated systems will include a Predator menu configuration, as well as systems and sensor operation. Through the virtual ground control station and C-LRN, instructors will be able to supervise training by receiving instant training progress from C-LRN while students practice operational procedures both inside and outside the classroom.
