Aviation Weather Text Message Service Terms and Conditions
Many of us are pilots, too, so we know how critical accurate weather information can be. We receive our
weather information from the National Weather Service, but we can't guarantee its accuracy or
timeliness. Use the official weather sources recommended by the FAA for flight planning.
Text messages can only include 160 characters, and in some cases, even less than that. Since many
TAFs and some METARs may exceed this limit, we may break the information into several messages.
We limit the messages sent to five (5), to prevent you from incurring excessive messaging
fees. Under normal circumstances, this should permit you to receive the entire forecast or
observation.
We don't change you to use this service, but your carrier probably charges for text messages. Therefore,
you may incur a messaging fee from your phone service provider when checking the weather.
Most carriers offer bulk messaging packages for only a few dollars more per month.
Finally, we hold no liability for use of this service, including messaging charges or information
accuracy.
Thanks for your interest, and safe flying!
